It was lovely to listen to you and learn more about your child during the parent-teacher connection conferences. We look forward to working closely with you during this school year.
Children to form relationships with their classmates and play together. This week, they enjoyed painting and exploring the outdoor play area. A group of children discovered a pile of brinks and worked together to build towers, a path, and a castle. Others were risk-takers going up the climbing frame all the way to the top!
As part of our unit of inquiry “Who We Are”, we used mirrors to encourage children to pay close attention to their faces. Some noticed how their facial expression changes as they showed different emotions and later they drew self-portraits. Some also drew portraits of their families.
We introduced the self-registration routine to encourage children to recognize their own name. We also discussed the book No, David! by David Shannon. Children described David’s activities and talked about the feelings of David and his mom.
Next week, we will work on developing essential agreements for our classroom and we will read the book From Head to Toe by Eric Carle.
Please note that we are starting swimming lessons on Friday so don’t forget to send a bag with your child’s swim suit, towel and flip flops on that day. Our P.E. day is Wednesday and all children should wear their running shoes on that day.
Here is our movie of the week. Enjoy!
Have a good weekend,
Miss Georgina and Miss Francesca
